I can't understand why I woke up at 04:46 this morning, unable to get back to sleep.

I got a rotten sleep the night before and I spent nearly an hour at the gym yesterday. Surely, it then follows that I should have been exhausted after that, but it seems that I'm somehow going to have to get through today having had five hours' sleep instead of the seven on which I planned.

Among other things, your brain produces a chemical called hemopressin that acts as an appetite suppressant but the shorter you sleep, the less it produces and the more you want to eat. I'm trying to lose weight and this is not helping.

People always think that exercise will help you sleep better, but that's not been proven. Studies have shown that you shouldn't exercise soon before you plan to go to bed, but that isn't the same as saying that exercising at any time will help you sleep.

It sukcs to wake up early and not be able to get back to sleep.

Hope you feel better tomorrow... after a nice 8 hrs or so.

I finish my exercises at around 6pm and don't go to bed until around 11pm, so it should have been enough of a gap.

At least I have a late shift tomorrow so I'll get an hour or so extra in bed.
